This is a collaborative group with the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists
The joint GHP/UKCPA Information and Technology Group aims to channel expert opinion from clinical practitioners to best inform and influence policy decisions related to the introduction of new technological advances, and also to increase awareness amongst clinical practitioners of key technological changes on the horizon and their likely impact.
The Group intends to:
- Raise awareness amongst (clinical) pharmacists of important initiatives related to information management and technology
- Act as a unified and consistent voice for (clinical) pharmacists on information management and technology issues
- Act as a source of opinion on information management and technology issues for a variety of sources, both internal and external to the NHS
- Co-ordinate responses to key consultation documents in relation to information management and technology issues that affect medicines management
- Influence and support Connecting for Health initiatives where they impact on medicines management
Operate a web-based discussion forum
- Offer topical education and debate sessions through symposia and conference events
